Skier Shares Clip From Life Changing Powder Run

Depending on your location as a skier, you may or may not be suffering from the snowless December doldrums.

If you fall into the former category, we have something that might ease your ills: vicarious living in the form of a tantalizingly deep powder skiing video from Luke Hinz.

Usually, I'd try and adhere to the mantra of not blowing up someone's secret stash, but Hinz, in this video, is riding a line that few are willing to invest the time into accessing.

Based on his hashtags and the chatter in the comments section, this video was shot on Baffin Island, a remote landmass in Canada's Qikiqtaaluk Region. You're obviously not getting the royal treatment on Baffin—if you want the goods, you gotta get them yourself.

Last week, Hinz uploaded a more detailed description of his Baffin Island travels, featuring a descent on Beluga Mountain.

From the caption:

"Safe to say this was my dream line. I spent nearly a decade looking at photos of this couloir and trying to figure out how to get to it. Located 270 miles above the Arctic Circle, it turns out it wasn't very easy to get to. And even once I finally figured it out-all the travel, logistics, financial ruin, and finding a good partner-we traveled all that way, only to find horrible new conditions. The couloir was one big sheet of ice. But we were patient. And ultimately, Ullr rewarded us. Big 'ole snowflakes finally fell from the sky. And ice turned to powder."

It's true. Good things come to those skiers who wait and are willing to put in the elbow grease. Yes, ski resorts worldwide are dealing with overcrowding, but untouched lines remain and probably will always remain within reach of those who go the extra mile.
