Skier Hits Whistler's Famous 'Air Jordan' In Perfect Conditions

'Air Jordan' on Whistler Blackcomb, BC, is like The Fingers of Palisades Tahoe, CA. An unofficial proving ground for hardcore skiers, the terrain is in perfect view of skiers lined up to ride The Peak Express.

When conditions line up, this can be an epic big-mountain style line, as shown in Ryder Bulfone's POV footage below.

Skiing Air Jordan requires a technical double-cliff jump, meaning skiers who stomp the line receive cheering from the crowd, while skiers who crash receive the same attention, but with different reactions.

Ryder writes, I "haven’t been down here in a few years. I’ve never skied it so fast before."

Ryder is a professional skier and mountain biker sponsored by Salomon Freeski, among others. He is known for his hardcore, ski-bum approach to getting lines wherever possible--and sometimes, even when it's not really possible.

Earlier in the season, Ryder was seen skiing pure dirt, with no snow in sight. His reasoning? It was just the current conditions provided on the West Coast early season.

Just because there's no snow doesn't mean you can't ski, if your name is Ryder Bulfone.

Things have turned around, for Ryder and for the West Coast, as February was deemed "Febu-buried" and March has the potential to be deemed "Miracle March."

Whistler Blackcomb had an especially rugged early season, but now has a base depth of 88 inches and 282 inches of snowfall so far this season.

There is snow in the forecast for Whistler from now until Wednesday.
