Skier Gives Off Luke Skywalker Vibes By Zooming Through Canyon

May 4th is behind us. Does that mean we can't make Star Wars references until next year? Absolutely not.

This clip, from speed flying and daredevil extraordinaire @skymax_llc, feels like a real-life recreation of Luke Skywalker's classic Death Star trench run in "Star Wars: A New Hope." It's that gnarly.

Zero margin for error on this one. Just like how Luke Skywalker had one chance to take down the Death Star.

For some, the inherent risks associated with skiing, like avalanches and hard crashes, aren't enough. This cadre of action sports athletes pushes the envelope even further, eventually completing stunts that echo moments featured in blockbuster films.

It begs the question: Why are some attracted to outdoor sports that involve risking life and limb?

Or, perhaps more to the point: Is @skymax_llc a Jedi? His speed flying skills seem superhuman.

Honestly, given how the past few years have gone, I wouldn't be shocked to learn that Force-wielders walk among us. Although, in this hypothetical, instead of using their talents to fight the evil empire, they pursue off-the-wall stunts that'd make Red Bull blush.

Somehow the idea that pro skiers and speed flyers are actually superhuman seems more plausible than the reality of the situation: these are technically average folks who regularly accomplish the impossible without the crutch of Jedi mind tricks. Truth is stranger than fiction, I guess.
