Skier Bends The Laws Of Physics In Trippy Video

Earlier today, I stumbled across an Instagram skiing video that made me do a double take, the sort of double take that makes you ask: "Is this real?"

I still don't know the answer to that question, so I'm passing the video on to a broader audience. Real or not, it's pretty cool.

After some deliberation, I've decided that one of two things is happening here.

First, some kind of machine (forklift? Groomer?) is hiding out of sight, making the snow block go up or down.

Second, a CGI wizard had their way with this video to create the illusion of a moving block of snow.

I'm leaning toward the latter option. Here's why. In the comments section, an Instagram user tagged pro skier Nico Vuignier, signing off the comment with a wand emoji.

Vuignier isn't just a pro skier; he's also an absolute wizard with special effects. Here's one of my favorite creations of his.

Suffice to say; I think Vuignier's skills played a role in the moving snow block video posted by Red Bull. It's got his fingerprints all over it.

This reminds me that I haven't aimlessly scrolled through his Instagram account recently. If you're in need of some procrastination yourself, have a look at it too. His work is the perfect blend of trippy CGI and gnarly skiing.
