Ski Legend Wayne Wong Makes Cameo At Utah Resort

Wayne Wong, from BC Canada, was one of POWDER's top 48 skiers of our time in 2006. At 73 years young, he still rips today.

Just yesterday, Wayne blessed us all with footage posted to his Instagram of himself and iconic ski designer Karl Lund ripping it up in Deer Valley.

The caption was nothing less than you'd expect from the man and the legend (there's nothing mythical about him)!

"Making some WONGWAY turns with good friend and Legend Ski Designer Karl Lund."

It's so Wong, it's right.

As one of the pioneers of freeskiing, Wong has done a lot of good in addition to shredding the gnar: he used his platform in the ski industry to raise over 40 Million Dollars for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Wayne's skiing is so iconic, he used it to do good in the world. Watch Wayne's beautiful skiing below.

Also... how good is that soundtrack? We don't hear stuff like that much anymore.

In 1972, Wong was Skiing Magazine's Freestyle Skier of the Year. From 1972 to 1976, Wong was a member of the K2 and Salomon Freestyle ski teams. From 1984 to 1987, Wong won the World Powder 8... 3 times.

In 1999, he was one of Skiing Magazine's 25 most influential people. In 2000, he was voted as one of the top 100 skiers of all time by SKI Magazine.

In 2006, he was named one of the top 48 greatest skiers of our time by POWDER Magazine. (The best award so far, obviously!)

Wong's achievements granted him lifelong status and glory in the ski world. In 2009, he was inducted into the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame, and in 2011, he was recognized as a pioneer of freestyle skiing by the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame.

Since Wayne is still out and about, what would you ask him if you ran into him on the mountain?

Or would you simply take your good fortune of meeting a true ski legend to hype yourself up for a new trick? You can't do Wong with Wayne watching.
