Skateboarder and physical therapist, Dr. Kyle Brown, shares late stage ACL rehab ideas for skateboarders (Watch)

Injuries are a part of skateboarding—there's no avoiding it. Luckily, Doctor of Physical Therapy (and ripping skater), Kyle Brown puts a ton of focus on skateboarding-specific injuries and rehab ideas, and is always coming up with useful ways to combat injuries so we can keep pushing.

It's rad how he uses that black box as if it were a ledge—it's like he's doing an imaginary noseslide. This is definitely a for skaters, by skaters rehab routine. Very rad.

"ACL rehab can be a long and grueling process. If you are a skater coming back from an ACL injury, it is important first to re-gain your strength, most notably QUADRICEPS STRENGTH," wrote Kyle on Instagram. "This is key, do not cut corners with this! But once most of your strength has been re-gained, it’s also important to get the knee comfortable and confident with jumping, absorbing impact, and decelerating (think about running out of tricks that you don’t land)."

He added, "During late stage ACL rehab, we continue to build strength, but we also do our best to prescribe exercises that expose the skater to some of these movement situations that they’ll be facing once they are back in the streets!"

Check the video for some examples of the exercise he prescribes for skaters during the last stages of ACL rehab, and give him a follow for tons of tricks, tips and pointers to stay sharp on and off the board.
