Have you ever dreamed of having a garden overflowing with fresh fruits and vegetables right at your disposal? If so, now may be the time to get some seeds and start one. Simple Mills, the snack and baking company, wants to give 10 lucky winners $1,000 to foot the bill for their very own organic garden. Talk about an incentive!

Between now and May 19th, garden hopefuls can enter to win on Simple Mill's website as part of their "It Starts at Home" campaign, which encourages consumers to implement small, sustainable changes, like starting an organic garden, at home. "Not only does the food we eat have a direct impact on the health of our planet, but equally important is how it is grown," the brand says in a press release.

The initiative celebrates the brand's first organic cracker, the Organic Seed Flour Cracker. To develop the cracker, Simple Mills partnered with farmers in the midwest to help them adopt practices that build healthy soil and heal the land. Now, they want to encourage you to do the same. “While we recognize the impact agriculture has on environmental health and how food companies, in particular, can ignite positive change impacting every part of the ecosystem, we feel it’s equally important to get consumers involved and invite them to be part of the Simple Mills mission to advance both people and planetary health,” said Shauna Sadowski, Vice President of Sustainability at Simple Mills. “Organic gardening is a great way to improve soil health and sequester carbon in your very own backyard.”

Even if you're not chosen as one of the winners, there's no reason you can't still enjoy some sort of edible garden—even if you don't have a backyard. Check out our guide to creating an indoor edible garden here.
