While we can all agree that the outfits on Bridgerton are incredible/fully influenced everyone entering their “Wandering Around in a Regency Nightgown Era,” apparently, all those tight corsets can be kinda painful.

Bridgerton season 2 star Simone Ashley spoke to Glamour UK about her experience spending hours on set in a corset, saying, “I had a lot of pain with the corset. I think I tore my shoulder at one point!” In fact, the garment was so restrictive that an entire wardrobe crew had to help Simone into her outfit “because when you’re in a corset, you can’t put your shoes on.”

Aside from dealing with wearing a corset, which sounds all kinds of unpleasant, Simone also chatted about riding a horse for the show (there are a lot of important horseback riding moments this season, as fans of the book series are well aware).

“I’m quite natural and I’m quite sporty anyway,” she said. “At the start, I was in the saddle every other day, pretty much for one to one and a half hours a day. I loved it. After moving from L.A. and a lot of change, I think that was something that really helped, because once you’re on the horse, you kind of get out your head and you don’t think of anything else.”

Bridgerton’s second season drops on Netflix on Friday, March 25 and follows a highly steamy love triangle between Anthony Bridgerton and sisters Kate and Edwina Sharma. Literally cannot wait.
