From Cosmopolitan

When you think about Simon Cowell (which...I hope doesn’t happen all too often for you), you probably conjure up the image of...IDK...super-white teeth, V-neck shirts, a general disdain for everyone and everything. But what you should be thinking about is money and how you can convince him to share some of his fortune with you. Simon Cowell is extremely f*cking rich.

This fact likely doesn't come as a huge surprise to you—the dude’s been a host on American Idol, America’s Got Talent, X-Factor, and a million other shows for literally eons. But I don’t think you understand. Like, Simon Cowell isn’t just a casual ~wealthy millionaire~. He's ridiculously rich and this is going to be you @ him in about five minutes:

First, Let’s Talk His American Idol Salary

Simon was a host on American Idol for nine seasons and was instrumental in launching the careers of stars like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. He earned a massive salary for this job: a super-normal-totally-regular-not-at-all-insane $30 million paycheck per year, at least according to the Wall Street Journal.

But LOL, Don’t Forget About X-Factor and Got Talent

Simon straight-up created these franchises with his production company Syco, and they’re insanely successful—Got Talent has spin-offs in more than 70 countries. Naturally, I spent several very dark minutes of my life trying to find Simon’s exact salary for these two money-makers, but it appears to be unreported. HOWEVER, Forbes claimed in July 2019 that he earns “eight-figure” checks for Britain’s Got Talent, America’s Got Talent, and X-Factor: UK. That’s checks—plural.

^ You, closing this article and Google searching “Is Simon Cowell single and does he want to date me?”

Um, Remember One Direction?

Yeah, well, Simon Cowell literally created the group on X-Factor and then they signed to his Syco label. As a result, Simon has earned HUGE amounts of money from their success. The $pecific$ are murky, but back in 2014, Forbes reported that Simon earned $95 million thanks to a combination of his production company income (aka that sweet, sweet One Direction money) and his TV gigs. Meanwhile in July 2019, Forbes reported that he’d earned a pretty decent $42 million from his various business ventures.

Psst: I know One Direction is no longer a thing (😿), but Simon’s production company still represents Camila Cabello, Olly Murs, and Noah Cyrus.

He Literally Owns a Million Homes

Kay not literally, but Simon does own more houses than any normal human needs—including a casual $24 million mansion in Malibu that he bought in 2017, a home in Beverly Hills which he bought for $15 million, and a recently purchased £15 million place in Wimbledon. So, if the whole music empire thing doesn’t work out, he can always sell some property.

Oh, and P.S. before we move on: Simon is so rich, he doesn’t really need to spend his time doing endorsements, but he has been known to promote vanilla coke (WHY, SIMON, WHY?), which probably paid pretty well!

So, What’s His Total Net Worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, that would be (WAIT FOR IT/PREPARE TO FLAIL) $600 million. I’ll give you some personal space to devise a plan to become his best friend/sole heir.
