Simon Cowell helped a 3-year-old boy find his stolen puppy by offering a huge reward

A missing 9-month-old puppy has been reunited with its panicked owners weeks after disappearing from their home in Kent, England.

Morse, a border terrier, was stolen from his home, leaving his owners’ 3-year-old son, Edward Latter, devastated.

Upon hearing of the family’s plight, animal-lover Simon Cowell offered a staggering $13,000 reward to anybody who could help reunite Morse with Edward and his parents, Richard Latter and Amanda Hopkins.

Writing in a heartwarming Facebook post, Amanda shared the happy news of Morse’s return, explaining: “He was found on the street in Meopham and taken in by a lovely family who bathed and fed him and then trawled the internet for lost dogs.

“Morse was vet checked yesterday morning, and although he is a bit thin and his pads are worn, he seems to be in good health if a bit subdued.

“We are all over the moon. Thank you to everyone who has helped to bring him home. Your support has been unbelievable.”

It is not currently known whether Cowell has rewarded the family who took Morse in, with Edward’s dad previously telling the MailOnline of Cowell’s kind offer: “It’s unbelievable. It is really, really, generous. … It is so good of him.

“After I found out, I put the phone down and had to stop for a couple of minutes to take it all in. I can’t believe the generosity of it.”

A source close to Cowell, who owns Yorkshire terriers Squiddly and Diddly, added at the time: “It’s heartbreaking to see a little boy’s Christmas ruined.

“Dogs are so important to so many of us. We just hope it helps lead to the safe return of Morse.”

Morse was last seen outside of his home, being put into a truck by a man, with a key witness reporting the dog-napping after seeing an appeal on social media.

Toddler Edward was left devastated by Morse’s disappearance and even wrote a letter to Father Christmas asking for his dog to come home.

Yahoo has contacted Cowell’s reps for comment.
