Silvia Tcherassi and Sofia Espinosa Tcherassi’s fall collection embraces their brand DNA of combining unexpected prints, colors and textures into day-to-evening wear. Although unable to travel to Italy this year (where the mother-daughter duo source their fabrics and used to visit four times a year), they were influenced by prior travels to work prints of classic Italian men’s wear ties into their feminine fashions.

The look: Casual, optimistic fashions with approachable yet special details and prominent prints that bridge day-to-night.

Quote of note: “Something very big for our brand — and something we’ve been doing since we began — is that we love combining unexpected prints,” Espinosa Tcherassi explained over Zoom. “That juxtaposition of contrast — stripes with polka dots, etc. For this collection, we wanted to take this part of our DNA further and do combinations of textures that are unexpected.”

Key pieces: Merino turtlenecks with printed silk inserts (an evolution from pre-fall’s cardigans); classic cotton separates with sequin polka-dots (best seen via a navy trench or classic striped button-down and matching skirt); quilted silk jackets with beaded embroideries; navy velvet trousers; abstract zebra printed offerings, like a casual belted blazer and trouser.

The takeaway: Overall, the fall collection provided transitional attire with new interpretations of their playful, “unexpected” twists.
