The Significance of the Chapel Where Prince Louis Will Be Christened
Kate Middleton and Prince William’s new baby, Prince Louis, will be christened at the Chapel Royal, St. James’s Palace, London.
Kate Middleton and Prince William have announced that Prince Louis will be welcomed into the Church of England on July 9 at the Chapel Royal, St. James’s Palace, London. His godparents are expected to be announced the morning of the event.
Built in the 1500s by King Henry VIII, the Chapel Royal has long been a standby location for both royal events and private family moments. It’s steeped in royal history, even beyond christenings. It was the setting for Queen Victoria’s wedding in 1840 to Prince Albert, and Queen Elizabeth II’s grandparents, the eventual King George V and Queen Mary, married there in 1893.
The space also holds special significance for Prince William, as it is where his mother Princess Diana’s coffin was kept for five days after she was brought back from Paris.
Prince Louis’s service will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby, who christened Prince George at the Chapel Royal in October 2013 and Princess Charlotte at St. Mary Magdalene Church in July 2015. He also officiated Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. The Queen, Prince Charles, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are set to attend the baptism, and newlyweds Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are also said to make an appearance.

With free agency and the draft behind us, what 32 teams look like today will likely be what they look like Week 1 and beyond for the 2024 season. Matt Harmon and Scott Pianowski reveal the post-draft fantasy power rankings. The duo break down the rankings in six tiers: Elite offensive ecosystems, teams on the cusp of being complete mixed bag ecosystems, offensive ecosystems with something to prove, offenses that could go either way, and offenses that are best to stay away from in fantasy.
It’s key to note that we’re not saying the “best team” or “best roster.” Instead, we’re talking about the best confluence of factors that can outline a path for survival and then success.
