Signed Channing and Jenna Were Heading for Split

Last night, the world was devastated to learn that Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum have decided to separate after nine years of marriage. The couple shared a joint statement on their Instagram accounts, telling fans they've "lovingly chosen to separate as a couple."

The news came as quite a shock to the couple's fans. Channing and Jenna met on the set of their movie Step Up in 2006 and had instant chemistry. They dated and ended up getting married in 2009. Since then, they've had a seemingly perfect marriage. They have a beautiful daughter, Everly, and they constantly share the cutest moments for the whole world to see. Like when they appeared on Lip Sync Battle together and pretty much recreated their Step Up chemistry.

And they post the cutest photos.

I mean, Channing shared this gorgeous, gushy birthday message about Jenna only FOUR MONTHS ago.

But as hard as it is to believe this perfect movie couple is separating, they were actually dropping hints that there was trouble in paradise way back in February.

When asked by Health Magazine about having the "perfect" relationship, Jenna made it very clear she and Channing were far from the perfect couple.

"When people say you guys have such a perfect life, I want to scream and tell them no one's perfect," Jenna said. "I think there are such things as great fits. It is a great fit as long as you are growing together, and I think up until this point we've really grown together."

Up until this point? Is she saying that she doesn't feel like she's growing with Channing anymore?

"I despise the word 'perfect,'" she went on to share. "Even if one starts to grow, the other catches up and vice versa. But I think a couple needs to be conscious and to want to do the work and be willing to look at the parts of you that need work. Both of us have been pretty aware and willing to do that. We've always had the same values. But we're not perfect! Are you kidding? We fight like other couples, we disagree about things, we have days where we don't really like each other."

Wow. Well, it looks like Channing and Jenna were never perfect - just like every other couple. Still, it's so hard to see a couple you watched walk the red carpet looking lovingly at each other like this...

...for nine years straight split up so suddenly.

Is it bad that I'm holding on to the hope that this "separation" is only temporary?
