As Halloween approaches, everyone on social media starts sharing some of their best nostalgic costumes from childhood on their feeds. But one family, in particular, took it a step further by recreating the original photos right down to the poses.

Jordan Miller shared a photo on Reddit of her and her siblings Heather and Derek dressed up as Wizard of Oz characters from October 1995 next to an almost exact replica from 2016.

"Recreated my first Halloween 21 years later," she titled the post, which went viral on Reddit, receiving more than 33,000 "upvotes" in seven hours.

In an interview with CountryLiving.com, Jordan said it was her idea to recreate the original picture, which was taken when she was just three months old. "I forced [my siblings] to do it," she laughed. "I'm super into Halloween and into dressing up, and I wanted to do something fun for my son's first Halloween."

In the original, Jordan was dressed as the Cowardly Lion, a 6-year-old Derek was the Tin Man and 7-year-old Heather was Dorothy. However, the Scarecrow was noticeably missing from the photo. "I realized when we first did it back in 1995, we never completed the Wizard of Oz crew," Jordan said. So, she decided to have her 10-month-old son Mason fill in that spot.

Heather, now 28, was game from the beginning, but getting Derek on board was a bigger challenge because he didn't want to dress up at 27. "I was really upset, and I was moping to my whole family," Jordan said. She then decided to pull out all the stops and use Mason to sway him.

"I said, 'Derek, it's Mason's first Halloween, we're not going to have another opportunity to do this. Will you please do it for me if you love him?'," she shared. The guilt trip worked and Derek caved.

Jordan said she made the costumes for everyone who participated in the recreation, just like her mom had sewn the siblings' original costumes years ago.

The last piece of the puzzle left to complete the picture was the perfect setting. But since the family had moved from Fort Worth, Texas to Columbia, South Carolina, Jordan said they were too far to go back to the original location. "We had obviously moved across the country and we didn't live by our old house anymore, so the photographer recommended us a place where she does a lot of her freelance photography," she said, and the problem was solved.

The recreation was a total hit on Jordan's Reddit thread with users even commenting on the fact that her family completely nailed the poses. "I like how you stayed dedicated to the dead weight pose," Reddit user buffalostance wrote in the comments section.

Jordan also shared a few bonus pics with CountryLiving.com of the 2016 version of the Wizard of Oz crew, complete with Mason and Yogi. Check out the adorable images below.
