Sia Takes Off Her Wig at the Airport

Sia’s signature wigs are — by now — every bit as recognizable as her powerhouse vocals. The singer didn’t always wear faux hair everywhere; in the earlier years of her career, she featured her full face on album covers. Now, however, the wig goes where she goes, from shoots to music videos to the stage. Although she once (memorably) took off her wig when she appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Sia-sans-wig sightings are few and far between. As she has previously explained, the wig is more than just part of her persona; it also affords her some privacy in public.
But it turns out there IS one place where Sia takes off her wig, and it’s probably not where you’re thinking. Yesterday, the singer boarded a flight at LAX and strolled through the airport without her face-shielding bangs. Instead, she let her center-parted blonde lob have a rare moment in the spotlight, pairing it with fresh skin, brushed-out brows, and a sunny smile. It’s a whole new side of Sia.
