Yumi Nu is officially back for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit's 2023 issue.

The 26-year-old model, who has appeared in SI Swimsuit twice before, is best known for her 2022 SI Swimsuit cover, which made her the first plus-size model of Asian descent to front the famed publication.

Now, Nu is back, bringing even more stunning looks to the magazine.

When not modeling, Nu is a singer and songwriter, releasing her first EP in 2019, followed by a second, called Hajime, in 2022.

Born of Japanese and Dutch descent, you've likely heard of Nu's uncle, Steve Aoki. Nu is signed to his record label, Dim Mak Records, and cites him as a major influence on her.

On the other hand, it was her mother, Kana Grace Nootenboom, who first exposed her to the world of modeling. Nootenboom used to bring Nu and her younger sister–Natalie Nootenboom, who is also a model now–along to shoots when they were little.

Despite her well-known family, Nu is blazing her own path in both the music and modeling industry, now joining other rising talents as a model for SI Swimsuit.

And the SI Swimsuit family can't get enough of the model, with editor in chief MJ Day previously stating, “In her first year of being in the spotlight, Yumi is coming into who she is and taking on the responsibility of what she stands for."

Nu agreed, adding, "Sports Illustrated was definitely part of this huge wave I’ve been riding right now.”

Along with SI Swimsuit, Nu has graced the cover of both the American and Japanese versions of Vogue, and she was the first plus-size model ever to appear on the cover of the latter.
