Jens Voigt has retired from the pro peloton, but that doesn’t mean he’s finished riding. The man who brought us 'Shut Up, Legs!' is giving fans a chance to ride with him this October at the inaugural Jensie Gran Fondo in Marin, California.

The Jensie Gran Fondo will take place at the Stafford Lake Bike Park on Saturday, October 10. Three ride options—45, 70, and 100 miles—offer road cyclists of all abilities the opportunity to experience the day. “Marin County was chosen because it ticks all the boxes; it’s big, it’s beautiful, and it has all the facilities we need to make a day at my Gran Fondo a really fun day out,” Voigt says. "Think Marin’s best and most scenic roads and climbs, the best Marin local food, and the best beer at the end—my favorite part.”

If you’re a big Jensie fan, rest assured he’s hoping to chat with you during the ride. “We’re going to try to make the ride with me as interactive as possible. I want to ride and talk to as many people as I can on the day,” he says. "For the ride itself, I will do the 100-mile course—'Shut up Legs’—which will give me plenty of time to chat with the people around me."

Hanging out with Voigt isn't the race's only perk. It will feature a mid-ride meal from local favorite Farm Shop of Larkspur Landing, as well as a celebratory post-ride lunch at Stafford Lake. Coffee, beer, and ice cream are also on the menu, so the long ride option may be a smart move for riders concerned with burning calories. Live music will cap off the day.

Event proceeds will benefit the Marin County Bicycle Coalition (MCBC), whose work in the county provides safer cycling routes and more bike access, on- and off-road. To register or learn more about the ride, visit thejensiegranfondo.com.
