SHUSHU/TONG SS24 Explores the Duality of the Nude

SHUSHU/TONG just presented its Spring/Summer 2024 collection, exploring the multifaceted emotions of women and the duality of "the nude."

Inspired by Helmut Newton's 1989 photography piece, "Big Nude," the collection aims to reconfigure our perception of nudity, shifting its association away from sensuality and instead, towards a "vibrant expression of female power." Exploring a sense of bareness beyond the realms of clothing, SS24 aims to convey emotions like tension, harmony, dignity and wildness.

Striking a delicate balance between everyday clothing and theatrical wear, the collection fuses classic silhouettes with exaggerated collars, emotion-infused prints and lace elements. Offering a commentary on sensuality and power, the collection seeks to showcase that there's an edge within every woman, one rooted in strength and fearlessness.

In terms of the garments themselves, hand-embroidered lace is the standout this season, wrapped around legs and waists in order to subtly reveal the texture of the skin. Classic bows return in multiple forms, featuring elongated proportions and cross shapes across chests. Elsewhere, SS24 sees the introduction of bras and silk dresses, joining a roster of intimate garments, alongside the new Pocket Bow handbag, adorned with oversized butterfly bows.
