Luxury reseller The RealReal announced that it has hired Ajay Gopal as its chief financial officer, effective March 18, and that it has appointed its current board member Karen Katz as chairperson of its board of directors.

Gopal currently serves as CFO of Outside Interactive and has extensive experience helming tech-enabled consumer companies, having previously served as CFO at Good Eggs, Helix and StubHub. As the former CEO of Neiman Marcus Group, Katz leveraged Neiman Marcus’ brick-and-mortar presence to launch its omnichannel strategy, integrating customers’ online and in-store experiences through technology and personalization.

Beyond, Inc.

Beyond, owner of Bed, Bath & Beyond and Overstock, has announced changes to its executive team. Chandra Holt is joining the company as CEO of Bed, Bath & Beyond. Dave Nielsen has been named CEO of Overstock. Current CFO Adrianne Lee has taken on an expanded role as chief financial and administrative officer.

A veteran merchandiser with expertise in e-commerce, Holt held various leadership roles at Walmart and Target before joining Conn’s HomePlus. Nielsen joined the company as Overstock in 2009 and has held several executive positions since then and as president from 2019 through the present, leading the company’s marketing, merchandising, supply chain, technology and digital product organizations. Lee has been CFO since 2020 and oversees all financial-related matters for the company, in addition to the legal, communications, investor relations and IT security functions, among others.

Milliken & Company has announced Bethany Smith as its senior vice president and chief human resources officer, overseeing all HR matters on behalf of the diversified global manufacturer. Smith has served as interim chief human resources officer since October 2023, stepping into the position upon the departure of Craig Haydamack.

Before becoming interim chief human resources officer, Smith served as vice president of human resources for Milliken’s corporate support functions, providing strategic HR support to Milliken’s six corporate enabler functions. Other previously held roles included HR vice president for Milliken’s healthcare division, HR director for Milliken’s textile business and director of talent acquisition and learning and development.

International executive search and brand advisory firms Karen Harvey Consulting Group (KHC) announced the appointment of Anais Goujon to director, executive and creative search for the firm’s Paris office, Kate Sunderland to vice president, creative search for the firm’s London office, and Charlotte Reeve as associate director, executive search also for the firm’s London office.

Goujon has served as a senior consultant since 2020 and has been working internationally across both the business and creative side of KHC’s search practice. In her new role as vice president of creative recruitment, Sunderland will oversee global creative search across disciplines. Reeve was previously an executive search Consultant for KHC and the director of recruitment for Indx, based in the firm’s London office.
