Shuffle Board: Farfetch Names Off-White CEO, Sorel President Resigns

Global platform for the luxury fashion industry, Farfetch, announced that Cristiano Fagnani has been named CEO of Off-White while remaining responsible for New Guards Group’s (NGG) Reebok business as CEO of NGG++. Stephanie Phair has been appointed chair of NGG. NGG CEO David De Giglio and co-founder, executive director and Off-White CEO Andrea Grilli are both stepping down from their roles.

Patagonia named Nina Hajikhanian as the new general manager for the business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). She will oversee Patagonia’s growing business in the region—which includes more than 12 stores and 300 employees—from the company’s EMEA headquarters in Amsterdam. Hajikhanian will prioritize engagement with communities across sports and environmentalism.

Hajikhanian has been part of Patagonia’s EMEA leadership team since 2019, most recently as director of direct-to-consumer, encompassing e-commerce, retail and customer service.

Wolverine Worldwide

Wolverine Worldwide has announced several leadership appointments. The company has named Chris Hufnagel president of Wolverine Worldwide, responsible for leading and driving strategy across its portfolio of footwear brands, along with leading its consumer marketing and insight teams.

Wolverine promoted Janice Tennant to service as global brand president of Merrell and promoted Rob Griffiths to serve as global brand president of Saucony. Tennant has served as chief marketing officer of Merrell since 2020 after joining the company in 2018. She will report to Hufnagel. Griffiths has served Wolverine as managing director of EMEA since 2021, responsible for leading the company’s commercial operations in the region. He will also report to Hufnagel.

Guess

Guess appointed Thomas J. Barrack, Jr. as an independent director to the company’s board. Barrack, founder, former executive chairman and CEO of DigitalBridge Group (formerly known as Colony Capital), joined the Guess board effective May 24. He will also serve on the board’s compensation committee.

Columbia Sportswear

Columbia Sportswear announced that Mark Nenow, president of the Sorel brand, has resigned in order to focus on his health. Craig Zanon, senior vice president, emerging brands, will lead Sorel as the company searches for a replacement.

Nenow joined the company in 2007 to lead footwear and transformed Sorel from a primarily men’s winter work boot brand to an all-season women’s led brand. He became president in 2015 and focused on growth through a drive toward function-led style applied to boots, sandals, sneakers and more.

At Home, a home and holiday superstore, has appointed retail industry veteran Jeff Evans as president and chief merchandising officer, effective June 19. He offers 30-plus years of knowledge in managing businesses across different retail formats, including department stores, warehouse clubs and mass retailers. Previously, Evans served in leadership roles at Walmart U.S. and Sam’s Club for 15 years in general merchandising, omnichannel, home and apparel divisions.

Third-party logistics company Spot named John Carsello as chief of staff. Carsello will be responsible for various internal initiatives in this position, working alongside Spot’s executive leadership team and reporting to co-founder Andrew Elsener.

This new role is critical to fulfilling Spot’s mission to execute its strategic plan and further empower the company’s people and technology to optimize delivery for its customers and carriers.

FDRA

The Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA) has appointed its new leadership team for June 2023-June 2025. Jennifer Bendall, vice president of government and public affairs at Nike, will serve as chairman of FDRA’s board of directors. She will provide strategic leadership to the organization, representing the collective footwear industry, including retailers, brands and manufacturers.

Josue Solano, president and CEO of BBC International, will serve as vice chairman. Dan Friedman, chief sourcing officer at Caleres, will serve as treasurer.

RILA

The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) said Kris Hamlin will join the organization as vice president, asset protection, effective June 26. Hamlin brings extensive experience in retail asset protection to the role, having most recently served as senior vice president, asset protection, inventory control and DC/logistics operation for Saks Off 5th. He has also held asset protection and operations roles at Nordstrom and Macy’s.
