How Shreveport Vacations - Mitchell's trip to Marco Island, Florida
With 24 square miles, Marco Island is the largest Barrier Island within Southwest Florida’s Ten Thousand Islands. On the city’s website, it is said to be "well known for its high quality of life, natural resources, casual atmosphere, and friendly people."
This is something LaShina Mitchell discovered when she recently traveled there with 8 of her friends, or as she refers to them ‘sister-friends’, at the JW Marriot of Marco Island Beach Resort.
“The staff was really nice. They were from all over the world,” said Mitchel.
The website brags that Marco Island Hotel's 12 restaurants allow its guest to sample cuisine from around the globe, “The food was great, you could really tell they were made with fresh ingredients.”
The group of friends wore matching coordinated outfits and would attract attention wherever they went. Every time someone asked them what they were celebrating, without pause, they would say, “friendship” in unison.
A group photo was taken along the three miles of private beaches on the Gulf of Mexico and another on a boat with Catamaran Cruise. But it was not what Mitchell did that mattered most to her, it was what she did not do. Enjoying the art of doing nothing, “I wholeheartedly embraced the art of indulging in the freedom to simply exist in the moment, letting my melanin pop and enjoy my friends.”
