Shoshone Falls After Dark to illuminate nights throughout May

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (ABC4) — The Shoshone Falls, an iconic attraction in Idaho, will soon be brightening up the night as it is illuminated with colorful lights next month.

The event Shoshone Falls After Dark is put on by Southern Idaho Tourism, along with Idaho Central Credit Union, Idaho Power, and the City of Twin Falls.

This marks the fourth year in a row the falls have been illuminated, now for the entire month of May, where visitors can come weekly Thursdays through Sundays.

Tulip Festival returning to Thanksgiving Point next week

Shoshone Falls, located along the Snake River near Twin Falls, is often referred to as the Niagra of the West, as it stands as one of the largest waterfalls in the U.S. at 212 feet tall and 900 feet wide.

The presenters are partnering with Midnight Production Studios to delight onlookers with a unique experience combining the natural beauty of the falls with lights and music.

Southern Idaho Tourism marketing and event coordinator Haley Evans said that the event has sold out every year, with visitors coming from all over the country.

“Shoshone Falls After Dark has quickly become one of the region’s most popular events, and we’re thrilled to expand it so even more people can experience this breathtaking spectacle,” Evans said. “Shoshone Falls is one of Idaho’s most iconic and beloved landmarks, and showering this magnificent high-desert landscape with a symphony of lights and music under the stars is truly magical and mesmerizing.”

Michael Watson, chief marketing officer at the Idaho Central Credit Union, said they’re excited to see Shoshone Falls After Dark become an annual tradition.

“Idaho Central Credit Union is so proud to be a part of the Shoshone Falls After Dark event again this year,” Watson said. “The vibrant music and light show illuminating the falls at night takes it to a next-level magical experience. If you haven’t had a chance to check this out yet, now is the time.”
