I’m of the opinion that ice cream is a year-round treat, but I’ll admit that it hits differently during the summer. It’s just so refreshing when you’ve been out in the heat for so long. This stainless steel machine is the gold standard of ice-cream makers if you’re not looking to spend hundreds. It makes up to 2 quarts at a time, using an integrated motor, automatic mixing paddle, and an insulated bowl that you place in the freezer beforehand. After tossing in all of the ingredients — there’s a recipe book for guidance — it’ll make a delicious batch of ice cream in about 25 to 30 minutes. Once all of the main components are added, you can use the large ingredient spout for mix-ins. When you aren’t using the machine (though you’ll probably leave it on your counter all summer), it’s compact enough to stash away in a cabinet. It’s roughly 8 inches long, 8 inches wide, and 11 inches tall. The parts are all removable and can go into the dishwasher for an easy cleanup.
