Shoppers Are Calling Trader Joe’s $4 Cleaning Gem "Just Right" for Spring

It’s officially the season for spring cleaning and decluttering, and having a good disinfectant makes a world of difference when you’re tidying up your home. And if you’re in the market for a new scent to use in your space, Trader Joe’s is selling a new citrus-scented all-purpose cleaner that’ll leave your space looking and smelling great.

TikTok content creator Talia Heskett (@traderjoestalia) spotlighted the find in a video posted on March 26.

“It is a fresh citrus scent,” Talia says as her camera pans over to the disinfectant cleaner, which retails for $3.99 apiece. “I tried it, and I really like it. It just smells very fresh and bright.”

The @BigBoxVegan Instagram account also posted about the new spray and one commenter shared that they’d tried it and “loved it.” Another added that the scent and the price were “just right.”

The disinfectant is part of a huge release of Trader Joe’s lemon-scented products for this time of year, like  a 100% Sicilian-style lemon juice, ricotta and lemon zest ravioli, lemon zest madeleine cookies, and a seasonal baked lemon ricotta cheese. A few weeks ago, Trader Joe’s also released a three-pack of spring-scented candles, which included a lemon verbena scent that shoppers loved.

According to Trader Joe’s website, the Fresh Citrus All-Purpose Disinfectant Cleaner comes in a 24 fluid-ounce bottle and promises to kill up to 99.9% of common household bacteria and viruses, without using harsh-smelling, irritating chemicals like chlorine bleach to do so.

“This Cleaner truly is All Purpose, adept at dealing with everything from tough grease stains in the kitchen, to mold and mildew in the bathroom,” the official product description reads, adding that the cleaner is “an excellent choice for both big projects and everyday tidying-up.”

Trader Joe’s recommends spraying the area you’d like to clean with the cleaner until it’s thoroughly wet, then allowing it to sit for 20 minutes before wiping it away.

Here’s a pro tip: Before you head to your local Trader Joe’s to grab some citrus-scented cleaner for yourself, try calling the store ahead of time to check on whether the product is currently in stock before you make the trip.
