If you’re a makeup minimalist, I’d wager you rarely, if ever, wear primer. After all, it adds an additional step to your routine and an extra layer on the skin—which, especially in light of many primers’ silicone-spiked formulas, can feel heavy. The Korean beauty brand is one of my under-the-radar favorites, primarily because its formulas are innovative in the truest sense. What began as a love for the brand via its lip powders—which have since been discontinued—has grown into a curiosity for all of its formulas, including this icy primer. Given its cooling feel, I’d imagine the formula is particularly perfect for the balmy, sweaty months ahead and ideal for anyone averse to a heavy, mask-like makeup feel.
Sodium hyaluronate, a close cousin of hyaluronic acid—skincare’s superhero hydrator—plays a role in plumping skin. Interestingly, the primer is devoid of silicones, which are found in most primers.
