The Presidents' Day Sales Our Editors Are Actually Shopping

If you missed your chance to splurge on a new mattress on Black Friday or your family didn't get you the air fryer you asked for this holiday season, then now is your time. Presidents' Day sales are rolling out and we're shocked at how low some of the prices are.

Presidents' Day falls on Monday, February 19th this year, meaning most sales start on Friday, February 16th, if not earlier. Tons of brands are lumped together Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day sales to culminate in nearly a full month of stellar savings. But that doesn't mean it's too late to get in on the savings. There are still plenty of great deals to be had (see below), but not all sales are made the same.

As someone who essentially shops for a living, I'd say I'm pretty savvy when it comes to finding a good deal. There are tons of Presidents' Day "sales" that are nothing more than a few puny deals or discounts on products that had prices marked up right before the holiday. When is Presidents' Day 2024?

Presidents' Day always falls on the third Monday in February, making it February 19th this year. Since many businesses consider the day to be a holiday, it's become a weekend packed with sales as the first post-holiday shopping holiday.

Usually Presidents' Day sales start the Friday before the holiday, or Friday, February 16th, this year. But we're seeing sales start earlier than ever, with many companies combining Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day sales event.

What is Presidents' Day a good time to buy for?

There's no shortage of deals when it comes to the first big shopping holiday of the season, but there are a few sales you'll want to keep an eye on. Mattresses are usually at their lowest price of the year, besides Black Friday, on Presidents' Day weekend. You'll also find a lot of outdoor furniture and lawn equipment on sale as people start to prep for the spring season ahead. TVs are usually heavily discounted, which we definitely expect to see again this year. Finally, you can snag some pretty great deals on home appliances, from small kitchen appliances to vacuum cleaners.
