Don't have time to take your bicycle into a repair shop? No need to worry because this bike shop will come to you.

Trev's Mobile Bike Repair Shop was officially started in March by Port Huron resident Trevor Schick. He has been working on bikes since he was kid, whether they were abandoned or belonged to a neighbor. After a few years working in the maritime industry, Schick decided to come back to his passion for bikes and made it into a unique venture.

Schick said he decided to make his bike shed mobile for two reasons; it was low risk without the need to rent a building and it was a unique experience he could offer to people.

"It seemed like a niche that I could fill for the area," Schick said. "I knew it was possible from seeing other (mobile bike shops) in Detroit."

Schick can be reached by his work phone at (810) 662-0511, his email at trevsbikeshed@gmail.com or via the Trev's Mobile Bike Shed Facebook page. There is also a QR code on the back of the van.

He said he tries to schedule around three repairs a day, or 15 to 20 repairs a week.

This isn't the first version of Schick's business. During his childhood in Memphis, Schick developed an interest in fixing bikes. When he was 12 years old, he started Trev's Bike Shed in his backyard where he would fix abandoned bikes and bikes that belonged to friends and neighbors.

With the bike shed being run out of a van, Schick has a truly mobile business. He said Port Huron Township is his homebase, but he will travel anywhere to do a repair. He said the furthest he has gone for a repair has been Rochester Hills.

The tune-up rate begins at $60, going up depending on the needs for the bike. Additionally, a travel fee for people located outside of Port Huron Township will be applied.

Everything Schick needs to do simple repairs and tune-ups can fit in the back of the van. However, if the repair is more extensive, Schick can load the bike into the van and repair it at his home.

"I can't keep every size of tire in the van, but I try to keep a good stock of basic needs like chains and brake pads," he said.

Schick said the response from people has been great. He said many customers have said he has a cool idea for a business.
