The door has closed on another New York Fashion Week and, as usual, many of us are left with long wish lists for next season. We’re also left with a burning desire to imitate the stylish herd of editors, bloggers, Insta-famous influencers, and models who have smartened up the bleak winter streets of Manhattan over the last few days. The Fall shows always challenge street style stars to up their layering game in order to keep warm and be somewhat practical in the blustery February weather. This season, the coat game was particularly strong. While some donned colorful faux fur, others pulled out their most eye-catching puffer jackets. There were pleather and classic trenchcoats for the unseasonably balmier days, and shearlings for when snow was expected in the forecast.
Alas, as covetable as much of the outerwear was this week, the majority of it was out of a reasonable price range. There are, however, plenty of options that won’t cost you an arm and a leg—or a photograph in front of Spring Studios.
