We’re Shook Over the New Dancing With the Stars Cast

Dancing With the Stars is one of those guilty-pleasure shows that you can’t help but tune in to from time to time. It features a random assortment of celebrities attempting to do the cha-cha or the waltz—and if that’s not entertainment, what is? Today the new cast of dancers for 2019 was announced, and the assortment is more random than ever before.

Debuting on September 16, the latest stars to hit the dance floor include a hot mess of names: There’s Queer Eye’s resident culture expert Karamo Brown, NBA star Lamar Odom, supermodel Christie Brinkley, Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek, former NFL star Ray Lewis, comedian Kel Mitchell, the Supremes’s Mary Wilson, actress Kate Flannery, country-music star Lauren Alaina, and Bachelorette star Hannah Brown. But most unexpected of all? That’s former White House press secretary Sean Spicer, who has reportedly turned down the show once before. (What caused the change of heart?)

This season’s eclectic cast joins past season stars such as Kim Kardashian West, Aaron Carter, Pamela Anderson, Zendaya, Lisa Vanderpump, and many, many more. But Spicer may just take the cake for the most unexpected of all—even the show’s host Tom Bergeron was perplexed by the choice.
