Shoe of the Day Paris Fashion Week: Miu Miu’s Furry Rainboots

Day 8 (March 7)

It’s no secret that Mrs. Prada likes a bit of fluff. But it wasn’t just the models wearing the fur coats. The rubber rain boots came with their own furry jackets as well. Not the most practical, but who needs practical?

Day 7 (March 6)

Spike heeled boots with with souped up baseball lacing and a varsity vibe stretched high above the knee — all brightly colored swooshes, sporty velcro closures, collegiate badges and Puma logos in old fashioned Germanic font. Unleash your inner cheerleader right here.

Day 6 (March 5)

At Valentino, the combat boot stomped its way into cocktail hour. Pierpaolo Piccoli’s take on army surplus toughened up delicate gowns and ensured the label marched in time with the current trend for workboots.

Day 5 (March 4)
The Comme des Garcons show featured a super cute sneaker collaboration with Nike. The label customized the sportswear giant’s classic flyknit with a black dickie bow embellishment across the toes to match that signature Nike swoosh to the side — a tuxedo for the feet.

Day 4 (March 3)

A collaboration with United Nude, the corrugated platforms at Issey Miyake seemed to change their color depending on your viewpoint. They drew inspiration from both those signature Miyake pleats and meteorological phenomenon, the Aurora Borealis.

Day 3 (March 2)

Sure, they were high of heel, but those patent boots at Virgil Abloh’s Off-White show were also made for walking as attested by the “For Walking” slogan emblazoned on the side. Just saying.

Day 2 (March 1)

Ladylike pumps with spindly tapered heels came embellished with crystal buckles in the shape of the Rochas “R” logo. However, contrast color ankle straps and the styling — they came teamed with knee-length pop-socks — made for an edgy, off-key twist.

Day 1 (Feb. 28)

There’s a ruched boot — and then there’s a Saint Laurent ruched boot. Anthony Vaccarello souped up this season staple with a glittering crystalized version that flashed with frosted fire and sparkled with every step. Not only will these bad boys light up a room, they’ll light up a stadium.
