Shania Twain revealed a surprising thing that made her feel uncool when she first came to the United States from Canada: Abbreviations.

In a sitdown with Dax Shepard for his Armchair Expert podcast, he and Twain, 57, discussed her meditation practice. He asked if she was into "TM," which completely baffled the Come On Over singer.

"What's TM?" she inquired.

"Transcendental meditation," co-host Monica Padman clarified.

Twain then blew everyone's minds with her response about growing up in the Great White North.

"I will tell you, don't use a lot of abbreviations 'cause I'm not good at those," she advised her hosts. "It's not really a Canadian thing. I did not grow up with abbreviations."

She explained, "When I came to the states, that was one of the biggest things. I felt so lost. Everybody was abbreviating! I would be the dummy. One time I would go, 'What's FYI?'"

"I'm not even kidding," she added. "Which makes me feel very uncool."
