Diana Ross was shocked to learn about the death of Grammy-winning musician Tina Turner.

Upon seeing the news that the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll passed away in her home outside of Zurich, Switzerland, at age 83 on Wednesday, May 24, the "I'm Coming Out" singer described feeling "Shocked" and "Saddened" in a statement shared to Twitter.

Ross also included a sweet photo of the two posing on a red carpet, writing, "Sending condolences to Tina Turner’s family and loved ones."

Turner's death was confirmed in an Instagram post by her manager, Peter Lindbergh, who shared the news in a statement alongside a black-and-white portrait of the late singer.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow," he wrote. "Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly. (© Peter Lindbergh)."

It was also previously reported that the "What's Love Got to Do With It" singer had been battling a long illness before her death, though the specifics have not been revealed.

Angela Bassett–who portrayed Turner in the 1993 film, What's Love Got to Do with It–was also among those who paid tribute to the late singer, along with Mick Jagger, Viola Davis, Ciara, Magic Johnson, Katie Couric, Oprah, Andy Cohen and many fellow others.
