There’s no question that Sheryl Lee Ralph’s royal, reflective purple gown was the star of her 2023 Golden Globes look, but her skin shined just as bright thanks to a hydrating foundation chosen meticulously by her makeup artist, Mila Thomas. Thomas used Danessa Myricks Beauty’s Yummy Skin Serum Foundation on the Abbott Elementary star, 66, and anyone could see that the hydrating formula left her complexion smooth, supple, and camera-ready.

In fact, Ralph wore a full face of Danessa Myricks products to the event, but the Yummy Skin Foundation stands out for us—just look at her complexion! The skincare-makeup hybrid is packed with nourishing jojoba oil, hyaluronic acid, and olive-derived squalene, making it ideal for dry, mature skin types. And just because it’s ultra-moisturizing doesn’t mean it’s heavy. Reviewers say it’s actually the opposite and feels super lightweight.

“Great foundation. You only need a drop to create a full face,” one Sephora shopper writes. “It feels lightweight despite its initial viscosity and it works well with my moisturizer,” another adds. “It’s full coverage with this most beautiful dewy texture that stays all day,” someone else writes.

Even more impressive, it comes in 26 shades and when the bottle runs out, there’s no need to pay full price for a whole new one. Instead, you can pick up a discounted refill.

On Ralph, Thomas used Myricks’ Blurring Balm Powder in combination with the foundation, along with the Beauty Oil and Dewy Cheek and Lip Palette. Her lilac eyeshadow (achieved with the limited edition Transcendence Palette) perfectly complemented her custom Aliétte gown, which her stylist Jason Rembert said took 960 hours to make, per People. On the red carpet, Ralph credited her daughter, Ivy Coco, for helping her put the whole look together.

“I said, ‘You get my style, Coco.’ I said, ‘You get me, you get the style, and let’s do this. And she’s been winning—I’ve been on every best-dressed list, including The New York Times and I thank my child. Every birthing pain was worth it!” she said.

She may’ve missed out on the Golden Globe (she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series), but her look surely deserved an award (we think her performance did too!). We can’t wait to see what else is in store for the season!
