Anyone who values a cozy, inviting home is about to be enamored with Sherwin-Williams’s Color of the Year for 2023: Redend Point (SW 9081). The blush-beige with subtle pink undertones represents warmth and empathy.

“I hope this color inspires people to think about neutrals differently,” Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams, tells House Beautiful. “A neutral doesn’t necessarily have to be white, beige, or gray; it can be a color or have colorful undertones, such as pink. It’s all about how you use it in a space.”

Part of the Nexus palette in Sherwin-Williams’s 2023 Colormix Forecast, Wadden recommends layering the color with terracotta shades and clay materials. “It also pairs well with other neutrals, which is perfect for people who have a more minimal style but still want their spaces to feel inviting and energizing,” Wadden says.

The nourishing color also builds upon the theme of nature from the company's Color of the Year for 2022, Evergreen Fog (SW 9130). Wadden explains: “While the blush-beige hue is a calming, earthy color, similar to Evergreen Fog, its warmth lends to the macro trends we’re seeing around empathy and care culture. We’ve been through a lot the past couple of years, and it’s important that we not only take care of ourselves but also each other.”

To help you bring Redend Point to life beyond paint, Sherwin-Williams worked with Etsy to craft a collection of goods inspired by the color. It includes stoneware vases, linen bedding, reclaimed wood furniture, hand-poured candles, wall art, and more. Basically, it’s a mood board that you can shop. Whether you use Redend Point to paint all of the walls in your bedroom or embrace decorative items inspired by it, the healing color will bring a calm and connected vibe into your home.
