Sherri Shepherd got emotional while capturing a special moment in her son Jeffrey's life.

The proud mom shared photos on Instagram of her teen getting ready for prom, helping him do his hair and put on a boutonnière. Jeffrey looked very dapper in a black suit with a blue bowtie and matching pocket square.

"'Mom why are you crying? It’s just my prom!' Watching my son put a corsage on his date's wrist and helping her into the car…whew I think I did alright!" she captioned the post.

Shepherd and Jeffrey's cousin Marcus Smith, who is an executive producer at KTLA 5 News, had an emotional reaction to the photos, too. "I can't take this. My lil cuz is 18-years-old [sic] and going to prom. So proud of him. ♥️Love you J!," he commented.

The former The View star additionally shared more about Jeffrey's prom experience on her talk show, Sherri.

"This weekend I was a very proud mom because my son Jeffrey went to the prom!" she explained. "He started acting like it wasn't a big deal but I knew it was a big deal for him and it was a big deal for me! And the whole time, I just wanted to cry but he was like 'Are you gonna cry?!' and I'm like 'No! No, I'm not gonna cry!'"

She also divulged the awkwardness of driving her son's date home while knowing the girl and Jeffrey were kissing in the back, joking that it was the "worst ride" of her life.
