The 'S.W.A.T.' star never forgets show where he got his start.

The celebration of The Young and the Restless’ 50th anniversary began on air on March 26, but it will continue throughout the year, and as part of the festivities, fan favorite Shemar Moore will be stopping by Genoa City to reprise his role as Malcolm Winters.

As first reported by Deadline, Moore will appear in the May 8 episode when he returns to town to connect with his daughter Lily (Christel Khalil) and nephews Devon (Bryton James) and Nate (Sean Dominic).

Despite having moved on successfully to primetime—Moore currently is the lead on CBS’s primetime series S.W.A.T., as Sergeant Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson, and prior to that he was one of the stars of the long-running Criminal Mindshe never forgets where it all began for him.

He told Parade last December, “When I did Young and the Restless, I was on there for about seven seasons and then I left for about three years and did a little of this and did a little of that. And then I came back for about a year three years later, after I had shot Tyler Perry’s movie and was waiting for it to come out.

“I went back and honored the source of what started my career. I did another year to be able to work with my dear friend, may he rest in peace, Kristoff St. John, and Tonya Lee Williams and Victoria Rowell. That’s where it all started for me, but I knew I wanted to keep growing to see how high I could fly as an actor.”

This isn’t the first time that Moore has returned for a guest appearance on the soap since achieving success in primetime, most recently he returned in 2019 for special tribute episodes after the death of St. John, who played his brother.

The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. S.W.A.T. airs Friday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT also on CBS.
