Shelter Full of Dogs with No Potential Adopters During the Holidays Is Heartbreaking

It's even more important to adopt this time of year.

As you and your loved ones gather around the dinner table this holiday season, it can be heartbreaking to remember all of the people and animals who won't be enjoying the same kind of comfort. Shelter pets, in particular, will be missing out on a lot of warmth, love, and delicious food this winter, so it's difficult to see crowded kennels. Unfortunately, though, that's exactly what @heartsforpawsrescuedavis is seeing this Christmas.

When they went to visit Solano County Animal Care in Fairfield, California, they were disappointed to find no other potential adopters there. Of course, there were plenty of furry friends there ready to say hello.

This just breaks our hearts! We hate to see so many animals without loving families, especially so close to the holidays. Hopefully, though, videos like these will help more people see these gorgeous dogs.

"I’m not crying, you are," @thebeastlybitch said. Yes, we are! Some of these pups seem so shut down and depressed; we just can't stand to see it. Just like so many of the commenters on this video, we wish there was more we could do.

"I wish I could win the lottery, buy a farm & save all the animals & have them live their best lives," shared @denise_1010_waz. That's such a beautiful wish! We're sure that would be just as heavenly for the animals as it would be for the people caring for them. We love what @heartsforpawsrescuedavis suggested in a reply to @dude_itskelly: "A great place to start is walking dogs at shelters, or fostering--taking care of a dog temporarily - costs covered by rescues." Those are all fantastic ideas!
