The actress is coming back to the big screen after a 20-year hiatus.

Shelley Duvall is getting candid about how it feels to be back in front of the cameras.

The 73-year-old actress, who is returning to the industry after two decades, revealed in a recent interview that she has gotten right back into the swing of things, even after all of these years.

"I know it's been a long time," she admitted during a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, adding, "But it's been great. It really has, it feels good."

"Makes me want to do more acting," Duvall, who is perhaps best known for her role in 1980s The Shining, also added. "It's actually so much fun to act in a movie. I should appreciate every minute of it."

Duvall hasn't appeared in a film since 2002 when she starred in Manna From Heaven. Now, she is slated to star in the upcoming horror film The Forest Hills, directed and produced by Scott Goldberg. The plot of the new werewolf movie follows "a disturbed man who is tormented by nightmarish visions, after enduring head trauma while camping in the Catskill Mountains," according to a press release obtained by the publication.

Known for playing eccentric characters on screen, Duvall will portray the role of Mama, mother to the emotionally disturbed Rico (Chiko Mendez).

The cast also includes Dee Wallace and Edward Furlong, as well as Felissa Rose, who recently revealed what it is like to work alongside Duvall, who she called a "true legend."

"Shelley has been an idol of mine and exceeded all my expectations, as a persona and as an actress," she told People of the film icon. "She lights up the room with her beautiful eyes and amazing soul, and I felt so connected to her."

The film's cinematographer-producer Scott B. Hansen also gushed about working with both of the actresses, stating, "Working with Felissa Rose and Shelley Duvall was an amazing experience, and you could see the chemistry on set," according to the outlet.

There is currently no clear release date for The Forest Hills, although it is expected to premiere sometime in 2023.
