Shawn must've been busy browsing through his millions of mentions because he recently spotted a fan-designed image of him with a butterfly tattoo on his arm. It seems like Shawn really liked the design because he ended up reaching out to the fan to get a photo of the artwork. Shawn isn't a stranger to ink. He already has several tattoos, including the shape of an acoustic guitar on his right forearm. So, is he already thinking about his next one? Here's how Shawn's convo with his fan, Kayla, went down.

It's not everyday your favorite artist notices you on Twitter, but when Kayla pleaded her case for why Shawn should get a tattoo of a butterfly, Shawn retweeted her and asked her to DM the drawing.

So, Kayla did just that because who would skip out on the chance to chat it up with their celeb crush? Kayla posted screenshots of the private chat to her Twitter.

In the convo, Shawn appears to have slid into Kayla's DM's. It seems he was confused about how Kayla even got the image of the butterfly onto his arm in the first place.

But Kayla admitted she was actually at the car wash and that he'd have to wait until she got home. She really made Shawn Mendes, of all people, wait.

But she did apologize, though, so it's all good.

Eventually, Kayla sent Shawn the artwork he wanted and even scored a follow back from him.

If Shawn really does get this tattoo, then this might be the most epic story ever.
