Shawn Mendes Skipped Out on the 2019 People's Choice Awards Because of His Tour

Shawn Mendes might be nominated for multiple People's Choice Awards tonight, but don't expect him to be on hand to accept them if he does win.

While fans might be sad to see that the pop superstar won't be there despite his four nominations, it's actually not surprising especially since he has been busy wrapping up his world tour for his album Shawn Mendes. The night before, he performed at Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand to finish the Oceana section of his tour to an end.

He shared a special message to his fans on his Instagram he after wrapped up the show writing, "Auckland what a wonderful place to end this part of the tour. Thank you so much! I love kiwis!!! ❤️"

He will soon be hitting up Latin America for the final leg of his tour before enjoying the holidays with his family and friends.

Shawn is nominated for Male Artist of 2019 and Social Celebrity of 2019. He's also up for Song of 2019 and Music Video of 2019 with girlfriend, Camila Cabello, for their track together, "Señorita".

While Shawn decided to skip out on this awards show, there's no doubt that we'll see more of him as awards season rolls along. He's also nominated for multiple awards over at the 2019 American Music Awards and while he is not set to perform, we don't doubt he'll be there to cheer his boo on as she takes the stage.
