Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello's Steamy “Señorita” Music Video Has Some Fans Wondering if They're Together

“It’s true la-la-la”

After dropping teasers throughout the week, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes have officially unveiled their latest collaboration, “Señorita.” And oh boy, there's even a steamy video that fans are going wild for on social media.

With the duo’s harmonizing vocals and a Spanish guitar-led flow, the track, as expected, is another summer bop — following the likes of “If I Can’t Have You” and “Havana” — in the form of a ballad.

Singing “I love it when you call me señorita,” in the video, biker Shawn and bartender Camila introduce us to their whirlwind summer romance, spurred by a fate encounter and complete with a healthy dose of romantic salsa dancing and heartbreak.

The whole video concept, paired up with the song’s revealing lyrics, has left fans with plenty of heated reactions. “Jesus Christ has left the chat,” one user commented alongside some still from the MV. But there’s one particular verse — “You say we're just friends / But friends don't know the way you taste, la-la-la.” — that takes the cake, making fans wonder if the BFFs could actually be dating.

“did Camila and Shawn announced they’re together at 1:48??? or is it just me???” one fan pondered after hearing the song, another resorting to simply sharing a theine-filled meme.

Camila and Shawn certainly share some, ahem, romantic, scenes in the video, and while some are debating whether we could catch a glimpse of a seemingly non-existent kiss, others are more focused on the details. “She kisses his back. Probably the softest part of this video,” one fan pointed out sharing a still.

Ultimately, it is a music video and though any similarity with real-life characters may just be purely coincidental, fans are still 100% on board. “my ship is freaking sailing in this video ahhHhHhHhHhHhhhhh,” a fan commented.

Interpretations aside, others are simply marveling at the duo’s growth since their first collab, “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” in 2015. “what a glow up,” one mentioned juxtaposing a throwback pic with a promo still from the track. “the glow up jumped out,” another one added with some screenshots from the pair’s two music videos.

The general consensus, however, is “Señorita” has indeed set the Internet ablaze to make this summer solstice even hotter.
