Shawn Johnson Introduced Her Baby Bear to His Older Siblings & 2-Year-Old Jett Had a Surprising Reaction

After coming home from the hospital, Shawn Johnson and Andrew East’s newborn baby Bear hit a major milestone: meeting his older siblings for the first time! The Olympic gold medalist shared a clip from this special moment on Instagram, and people couldn’t help but notice 2-year-old Jett’s surprising reaction.

In the clip, Drew, 4, sits on a little white chair, with her hand around her little brother Jett’s arm. Jett holds baby Bear in his arms, gently cradling him with one hand on his belly and the other hand on the baby’s arm. At one point, the newborn wriggles like he’s going to start screaming, and Jett just calmly looks down at him, not moving a muscle. He’s so careful with the baby, it’s adorable!

“First time kids met their baby Bear ☺️,” Johnson captioned the video, adding, “To see how in love they all are makes my mama heart so happy.”

“Everyone is talking about Jett’s size but the calm way he’s holding little Bear is the cutest,” someone commented. “So mature and not at all like his wild child ways. Taking big bro status seriously. 😍 For now, anyway. 😂”

“So tender ❤️❤️,” someone else wrote.

Another noted, “They are in love with him; they’re very sweet with a baby considering how young they are still🥹”

Johnson shared a longer video of her three kids meeting on YouTube. “This was a moment we will remember forever,” they captioned it. “It was so special to see how much these 2 love their little brother already. We were so excited to tell them that they got a little brother and to watch them instantly fall in love was so sweet. Drew and Jett are already the best sister and brother that Bear could ask for and are always asking to hold him 🥹.”

In the clip, Johnson FaceTimes Drew and Jett from the hospital. Drew cutely asks her mom, “Can I see the baby?” You can tell she is so excited to be a big sister. Johnson turns her phone to show the sleeping baby, all wrapped up in a hospital blanket, and Drew says, “Oh! Hi little baby.”

Jett stares at the camera and then finally says, “Hi little baby!” just like his big sister.

When they finally get home, Jett heads straight to his mom and tries to pull up her shirt to find the baby. (Our hearts!) Drew says, “I want to hold the baby.” These two have waited long enough for their baby brother!

Another heart-melting moment happens when Drew holds Bear and asks her mom, “Was he wearing clothes in your tummy?” So sweet! Johnson smiles and responds, “No, Mommy just put this on to come home.”

Johnson and East welcomed their third child on Dec. 12. In an exclusive interview on their FamilyMade newsletter, the couple explained his full name, Barrett “Bear” Madison East. “Going into the birth, we didn’t know if we were having a girl or a boy so we had a name for each that we loved! We’re so happy we got to use the name Barrett Madison for our son and love calling him ‘Bear,’” they wrote. “We knew if we had a boy we wanted to pay tribute to Andrew’s dad who passed away last year and his name was Guy Madison East. Andrew’s Grandpa’s name was also Madison and it was later passed down to his dad, making it a really special family name.

“We started thinking of first names that went well with Madison and fell in love with Barrett,” they continued. “We’ve loved the nickname “Bear” for a long time and considered using that name for Jett, but decided to hold onto it. Since then, we’ve always wanted a baby named Bear and after seeing our sweet son for the first time we knew this name was the perfect fit.”
