Sharon Osbourne feels her best in red—hair, that is. After 18 years of wearing the signature color, The Talk co-host switched things up and tried an all-white mane, even briefly switching it to frosty pink. But neither hair color felt right.

“I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, and I’m like, ‘Nah, you look like Grandma Clampett,’” she said on a recent episode of The Talk, referring to a character from the 1960s sitcom The Beverly Hillbillies. “And then I thought, ‘Nah, I’m changing it back,’ and that’s what I did.” She admitted that the impulse was heightened by her recent birthday—she turned 68 on Oct. 9.

Osbourne’s journey to light hair began around eight months ago when she shocked the world with her silver strands, following in the footsteps of Jane Fonda. The process took colorist Jack Martin, who also transformed Fonda’s hair, eight hours to complete. “Sharon has 100% white hair and she was coloring her hair once a week,” he wrote on Instagram. “She explained to me that she wanted to do this transformation long time ago but every time she attempts it ends up with a disaster … I didn’t promise [her] anything but I told her I will try my best.”

“I was just so fed up of going and having it dyed and having it dyed, and I just was like, I can’t do this anymore,” Osbourne explained at the time, referring to covering her natural greys. “I’m like, why am I trying to do something or be something that I’m not? So, just be who you are.”

Now, she’ll be back to weekly salon visits. “I just couldn’t stay away from the red,” she wrote on her Instagram Story, per Today. However, when she shared the news on her grid, she said she’s not opposed to trying new colors in the future. “Back to Red,” she captioned the post. “What color should I try next?”

Some fans were so glad to see her classic look again and others already miss the platinum.

“I love the red! Glad it’s back❤,” one fan commented. “I loved the silver!!!!” another wrote.

“Red is your color!! always gorgeous ❤️,” another added. New shade suggestions included lavender, blue, and blonde, so her next big reveal could truly be anything.
