Daymond John, the founder, president, and chief executive officer of FUBU and an investor on Shark Tank, filed for a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction against Al “Bubba” Baker, his wife, Sabrina, and his daughter, Brittani.

According to the Los Angeles Times, a federal judge in New Jersey dismissed the case without prejudice this week, but John, 54, then filed an amended complaint, which is currently pending.

"This temporary restraining order is due to the Bakers’ blatant actions to undermine a business partnership and the legal parameters they agreed to 4 years ago," said Zach Rosenfield, a spokesperson for John, in a statement. "Their belief that they can unwind poor business decisions through slanderous social media posts and articles will no longer be tolerated.”

The Bakers were contestants on Shark Tank in 2015 and secured a business deal with John for their product, Bubba’s Q Boneless Baby Back Ribs. Now, they are calling out John's business dealings, saying that working with him “has been a nightmare.”

A Los Angeles Times investigation includes claims from the Bakers that they've only received $659,653, barely 4 percent of that total publicized revenue of $16 million. The Bakers also shared several other complaints about John and his business practices.

John has faced multiple lawsuits before, including two from former Shark Tank contestants. They were either settled or dismissed.

After the original Los Angeles Times article was released, John responded in a TikTok video, calling the story a "flawed interview and false narrative," and criticized the family for "intentionally" violating a confidentiality agreement.

@thesharkdaymond

I’m not one to give oxygen to false information and bogus claims - especially ones that are rehashing things that were addressed through the legal process nearly 4 years ago. But I know when I need to stand up for myself. Here are my thoughts on the recent @latimes story that has tried to take down Shark Tank and go after me. I have nothing at all to hide whatsoever because I know the truth is on my side. #sharktankupdate #SharkTank #FinancialIntelligence

In response, the Bakers also released a series of videos explaining their side of things in further detail.

Many social media users have shared their support for the family, with quite a few calling for 60 Minutes or Inside Edition to do a special on the situation.
