Shaq Flexes Strength in Workout Video Amid Surgery Recovery: 'I'll Be Back'

The former NBA star had a hip replacement in March.

Shaquille O'Neal is proving that he's still got it after his recent hip replacement.

The former NBA star shared a video of himself laying across a workout bench as he pressed two large weights, getting just a couple of reps in during the quick clip.

"I may be the black sheep of the family, but I'm the one you call when s--t gets real," the audio rattled off as he lifted what appeared to be a pair of 25-pound dumbbells, a slew of other workout equipment spread across the background.

"I’ll be back @novexbiotech #gf9 @alkaline88," he captioned the post, tagging some of his brand partners.

It didn't take long for fans to stand the basketball legend support. In fact, even Jeremy Renner, who is in the middle of his own recovery, commented, "Get after it brother !!!"

Shaq was hospitalized about a month ago for the procedure, but he barely let it slow him down, as he said that he was aiming to be back at work by April 16. He then shared a video of himself walking into the gym with a single crutch just one week after his hospital selfie, going on to use a chest press machine.

On the March 9 episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq, the basketball player also joked that he's trying to lose 30 pounds during his recovery time. Shaq previously had a goal to lose 20 pounds by his 51st birthday this past March so that he could star in an underwear commercial with his sons.
