Shania Twain Fans Declare They 'Don't Even Recognize' Her in New Photos

Shania Twain is pretty active on social media, whether it's posting throwback photos and videos or updating fans while on tour and during her everyday life. However, the country singer's most recent Instagram post has elicited some strong reactions—and some fans claim they "don't even recognize" her.
On Thursday, Feb. 29, Twain, 58, took to Instagram with a photo of herself rocking a new hair color. The "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" singer captioned her post with, "Color my hair, do what I dare! 💅"
In the picture, Twain wore a black, long-sleeved dress with a plunging neckline. She posed for the camera while sporting freshly-dyed rose gold tresses, looking absolutely stunning. Except, many fans clearly didn't approve of the look. And some flat-out accused the "You're Still the One" songstress of going under the knife.
One Instagram user commented, "I wish she would [stop] doing work on her face. So unnecessary!" while another declared, "I don't even recognize you."
Someone else commented, "I think ya might have done more than color your hair sis😂. Your looking good!!!"
Another person compared Twain to the Kar-Jenner family, writing, "Shania Kardashian 💜."
Meanwhile, someone else lamented, "Noooooo Shania!! You were naturally beautiful!😢😢."

Interestingly, Twain recently opened up about whether she would ever go under the knife. During a March 2023 interview with Hoda Kotb on the Today host's podcast, Making Space, she shared her thoughts.
“I’ve come to a point where, no I’m not gonna do it,” the singer told Kotb. “Maybe that was probably part of what pushed me to go, ‘OK, it’s time to start loving yourself in your own skin,’ because sure I’ve got lots of friends that have had very successful surgeries, but I’ve also seen others that aren’t so successful.”
