Shania Twain Details Why Harry Styles Asked for Her Phone Number

Obsessed with this friendship doesn't even begin to cover it.

Shania Twain is dishing on her unconventional friendship with Harry Styles, and it's even cuter than you might imagine.

The People's Choice Icon, 57, stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Jan. 4, 2023, to talk about her upcoming album, Queen of Me, due out on Feb. 3, and the resulting Shaniaissance where Colbert made sure to ask the hard-hitting questions that everyone's been dying to know the answer to—like how the country superstar befriended the one and only Harry Styles, 28.

Twain explained that he was once playing in New York "before he really blew up," and she got to go backstage to meet him. She described them as "texting friends" from that moment on, and a few weeks later he reached out, asking, "Would you call my mum and wish her a happy birthday? ...You know, my mum was a big influence on me, and she's why I grew up with your music."

The "That Don't Impress Me Much" singer was happy to call up Styles' mom for the occasion, and she says that she and the "Watermelon Sugar" singer have been friends ever since.

Styles would later go on to invite the songstress to join him at Coachella, where the two sang "Man I Feel Like a Woman," much to the shock and delight of the crowd and those following along at home.

We can't wait to see what comes next from these two. Perhaps a feature on each other's albums or a duo tour is in order?
