A star was born at the 2019 SAG Awards. No, no, not Lady Gaga—she’s been a star for ages! We’re talking about Shangela, the two-time RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant who walked last night’s red carpet alongside her A Star Is Born costars Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Sam Elliott, Anthony Ramos, Luenell, and William. Rather than go for the typical understated look, Shangela turned out some proper glamour in a custom ombré Christian Siriano dress.

“I feel like a princess at a ball tonight,” she said on the red carpet, taking time to pose and snap the occasional selfie with the likes of Henry Winkler and Darren Criss. To help with her princess-inspired look, makeup artist Kade Lieb created a rose-colored eye and hairstylist Ashley Riley pulled Shangela’s wig into a polished topknot.

Stopping to talk to Entertainment Tonight, Shangela was quick to point out the importance of having drag represented in the nominated film. “I think the inclusion in this film, and how well it’s done with Bradley, just really makes everyone feel valid,” she said. “It’s an authentic set of scenes, and to be a part of this in this moment, it really shows a lot of people out there: Who you are is worthy and you count.” Halleloo, indeed.
