No one’s doing it like Meghan Trainor. She can drop her new album Takin’ It Back and embrace her second pregnancy, all while writing her first book, Dear Future Mama. Doesn’t she make it look easy?

The truth is, it's not easy. And though Meghan has connected more to her body than ever before (she’s realized how powerful it is; read: giving birth, lifting children, and working out), sometimes her hectic schedule takes a toll. The "All About That Base" singer, 29, reveals to Women's Health that she's struggled with thinning hair and breakage, but has found a solution that helps.

What also helps: Showing appreciation for her body with one simple mantra. “Everything I get to do with my body, I'm so grateful for and I'm like, ‘Thank you, body,” she tells me. “It helps remind me to nourish my body and exercise.” I know that's right.

Meghan sat down with WH to share how her beauty and wellness routines have changed since becoming pregnant, plus, what she eats in a day. All that and more, ahead!

She’s finally found the antidote for healing her hair.

Meghan has a super authentic partnership with Nexxus and their Unbreakable Care collection. “I love that finally somebody likes talking about my thin hair,” she says, explaining that she’s damaged her hair over the years and since high school, she’s struggled with having thin hair. “When I do dress up like a pop star, it's all fake hair ‘cause I don't have enough.”

She loves the collection of the anti-breakage shampoo, thickening conditioner, and root lift thickening spray because they help solve the underlying issues that cause hair breakage and loss—especially with the root spray. “It gave me crazy volume and my manager's been using it and we're having the best time with this product,” she continues.

Meghan has been using her favorite secret makeup product for years.

She’s currently struggling with perioral dermatitis in her second pregnancy, so her skincare is “crazy” RN. Fortunately, her fav foundation from It Cosmetics that she will “use to the day I die” is her best friend in these bumpy times. “That foundation is so sick, full, but you don't feel gross and it's the best coverage,” Meghan says.

Meghan slid into her now-trainer’s DMs to book her.

Trainor may be Meghan’s last name, but even she needs help sometimes. She didn’t really get into working out until her first pregnancy—before, she usually used the treadmill for 40 minutes and “did nothing,” she says, or she hung out on the elliptical and watched a TV show. “I was like, ‘Oh, I should push weight, and lift weight. I just didn't know how to do it,” she continues.

So when Meghan saw her current trainer coaching a pregnant woman on social media, she messaged her. Now, she loves the safe feeling of having a trainer help out. “I like learned like, ‘Oh, my body is this strong, are you kidding me?’” she says.

Working out has been a total game-changer for her.

After she gave birth to her first child, Riley, Meghan was all in: “I became a beast, like, I was a fit queen that was doing incredible things,” she says. “I never give up, never surrender.” Now, Meghan’s with her trainer Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and on her days off, just makes sure to get in 10,000 steps a day.

Together, they do strength and pelvic floor training—think: a lot of leg days, full body days, plus, arm work—but not as much jumping or sprinting anymore because of her pregnancy. “She's like, ‘You’re going to have to carry that baby and a toddler,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, you right,’” she says. “So I just feel so strong and so physically fit.” (BTW, her trainer is also pregnant RN, so they worked on Meghan’s new book, Dear Future Mama, together, to include pregnancy-safe workouts!)

When Meghan works out, she’s gotta wear Lululemon align leggings, a comfortable hoodie, and Brooks sneakers. Sometimes, her husband, Spy Kids alum Daryl Sabara, even joins her pregnancy workouts. Love it!

Meghan loves one snack in particular when she’s pregnant.

After she wakes up, Daryl usually makes her protein oatmeal using Purely Elizabeth, adding frozen raspberries. “It becomes just like a granola bar basically in a bowl,” she says. (Yum!) Around 10:30am, she’ll have a smoothie with protein and blueberries, also made by her husband, a.k.a., her “chef,” she adds. Once noon or 1 p.m. rolls around, Meghan will eat lunch, which is a protein, green, and carb, like rice.

For snacks, she loves nuts and berries, unless she’s pregnant, in which case, “I'm like, ‘Oh, I need a pickle,’” she says. Her mom also makes delicious oatmeal cookies that Meghan enjoys munching on. Dinner is always early, usually around 5:30 p.m., so while Riley eats a turkey hotdog, Meghan will have a protein and veggie, and sometimes a carb. “My main goal is anything to make me like poop normally, you know?” she says. “My body's a machine and I gotta fill it.”

At the end of the day, she’ll sometimes have chocolate at night. “That's my like reward of, like, ‘Good job for you today. You're a queen,’” she says. Oh, and she drinks a gallon of water a day. I love to see it—you’ll always be royalty to me, Meghan!
