Shakira is a pop music icon, and she was honored with the Video Vanguard Award at last night's MTV VMA's to solidify it. (Fun fact: she's had 30 total VMA nominations over her career.) The "Whenever, Wherever" singer, 46, hit the award show's red carpet in a cut-out sequin Versace gown, showing off her toned core.

"Hi #VMAs 😘," she captioned a sultry snap, which she shared on her Instagram. Of course, her followers and famous friends were absolutely blown away by Shakira's glow. "Omg HI," wrote USWeekly's IG account. "OMG! 🔥😍😍😍😍😍😍😍," a second person wrote. And model Gisele Bundchen commented, "You rock!!! 🔥🔥🔥." Outfit approval from Gisele? Shakira, you're crushing it.

Then, later in the night, she took the stage in another transparent and sparkly outfit (which obvi also highlighted her strong abs and legs) for her Video Vanguard Award performance. Shakira shook up the crowd with a fantastic rendition of her hit song, "She Wolf," and if you haven't seen the performance yet, you need to stop what you're doing and watch it right now.

For starters, Shakira's abs get an amazing workout thanks to her dedication to dance and gym workouts, and works with trainer Anna Kaiser for 90-minutes, six days a week to keep her body strong and flexible. "Shakira is really focused on consistency with her workouts—the strength, the cardio, the stamina, the power, the flexibility, everything," Kaiser told Vogue.

Kaiser shared Shakira's exact core workout with Shape, adding that the circuit "makes her hungry! I don't know anyone else that gets hungry during [abs exercises]."

The workout includes: side cinchers, standing marches with weighted crunches, lateral teasers, twisted crunches, seated c-curves with an overhead towel extension, and 3-count crunches with a Pilates ball. Honestly, this workout like it hits on *all* the good stuff, so it makes sense Shakira was so sculpted at the awards show.

And besides traditional surfing, she also loves wake surfing. The "Hips Don't Lie" singer showed off her impressive balance in a recent IG video.

When it comes time for her meals, Shakira makes sure her diet is loaded with veggies. Kaiser told E! News that her breakfast is usually "eggs or avocado with olive oil, tomato, sea salt, then a smoothie [with] berries, plant protein, sometimes greens or green powder." Lunchtime is fish, veggies and salad--or soup, which might be artichoke, leek and eggplant soup, or carrot ginger. Dinner is more fish and veggies, or the occasional pork chop. And for dessert? Dark chocolate.
